Studio Elke and UK carpeting company Brintons have collaborated to translate the Studio Elke vision into a suite of customisable broad-loom carpet designs titled The Composite Collection.
Brintons’ established and extensive history in design and innovation is legendary — and it made for an exciting synergy with Studio Elke’s cutting edge, artistic, and thoroughly conceptual approach to design and design thinking. While jewellery may seem like an unlikely muse for a collection of carpets, The Composite Collection captured Brintons’ rarefied, centuries-long experience in creating and inspiring truly unique design.
The Composite Collection skilfully marries Studio Elke’s intrepid, striking materiality, with Brintons’ timeless, premium woven Axminster Carpet.
As well as collaborate on the design of the carpets, Studio Elke collaborated with photographer Christopher Morris, on a series of campaign images that saw the colourful, patterned carpets draped, hovering and seemingly soaring on a contrast brutalist background.
The Composite Collection has been used extensively worldwide, and are featured in exclusive hotels and sea vessels, such as the W Hotel in Toronto, the Hilton Hotel in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, and the Norwegian Havila Kystruten Cruise ships.
